Dr. Kakali Bhattacharya has published 30 refereed articles, four books, 10 book chapters, holds editorial responsibilities with a Rutledge Book Series titled Futures of Data Analysis in Qualitative Research. She is also the guest editor of four special issues of journals such as Qualitative Inquiry, International Review of Qualitative Research, and International Journal of Qualitative Studies in Education. Her work has explored methodological and theoretical possibilities of de/colonizing qualitative research for the past thirteen years specifically within the context of higher education and beyond. She has been invited to speak over 25 times to deliver keynote and plenary lectures, and as a guest speaker nationally and internationally.
She has won the 2017 outstanding publication award from American Educational Research Association and the 2017 Outstanding Book Award from International Congress of Qualitative Inquiry for her co-authored text with Norman K. Gillen entitled, Power, Race, and Higher Education: A Cross-Cultural Parallel Narrative. She has also won the 2018 Division G Mentoring Award in conjunction with Tyrone Howard. She has been nominated for 6 national outstanding teaching, research, and mentoring awards, and has won a distinguished faculty, distinguished presenter, and distinguished researcher award from Texas A & M University Corpus Christi and University of Memphis. Additionally, she has been the featured speaker for Sage Research Video series for her expertise in critical, creative, and de/colonial qualitative research. She has also been featured by both Texas A & M University Corpus Christi and Kansas State University for her research and pedagogies. |
